my super awesome witch hat!

materials: 100% polyester felt, black embroidery floss, craft wire, all from the 100yen ($1) shop.

I wish I could have made it with wool felt instead of the disgusting polyester felt. **sigh** however, I think I only spent about 500yen in materials, so that's pretty nice. there were stores selling cheapy thin polyester hats for the same price or more (alas, I live in Japan).

it was my first time making a hat of this variety. putting the wire in the brim was kind of a pain. it's not perfect since I just kind of made it up as I went along, but I think it turned out all right ^_^;

This is awesome! Looks like putting wire in the brim really helped it get that floaty floppy shape without sagging!

thanks! yeah, the wire was a must. when I tried it on without any wire, the brim covered me down to my shoulders >_<
I see that you are a wig-maker. Have you thought about exploring the world of hats? I bet you'd be able to make some killer hats ^_^
