first shirt I've ever knitted! :'D

white is so not my color, but I had 4 balls of "cotton terry" (85% cotton, 15% rayon) with a label that looked like it was from about the time I was born, that my mom's friend had given me a long time ago. I had to use it up somehow.

overall, I think it turned out pretty good. the whole point of this was to make a shirt that would be appropriate for a teacher in Japan though, and it turned out a tad bit too low for that... guess I'll just have to come up with a good shirt to wear underneath.

and just for fun, the skirt is [link]

*edit 8/3/2007* thanks to all of you that expressed your opinion on the submitions! this version won most of the votes, so this is the one I'm keeping :]

awww...you do knit and sew! that's so cool! (haha, I missed sewing. We had to give back our sewing machine to my aunt [who was the rightful owner, I think we borrowed it back then] and I was devastated.) Right now, I'm saving up for an electric sewing machine.

You're interested in Buddhism? W/c one, in particular (err...I have an impression that different cultures practice it differently, or I may have been mistaken... ^^; ) I'm currently interested in Eastern philosophy, but with Taoism in particular.

Did you mean Hayao Miyazaki? (is there any other person? haha, I should get knocked on the head w/ a baseball). I adore his works, most especially Spirited Away. The first Miyazaki film that I've seen was Valley of the Wind, and I didn't even know it was one of his works back then. Then my friend introduced me to several of his films and I got hooked.

Err.. sorry. I talk too much. Thanks a bunch for visiting my "Purple Purse" deviation.

sewing machines are good things to have. it will be well-worth it for you to save up for one. I miss having one with me, but since I am not committed to staying in any particular town right now, I have to keep my belongings to a minimum.

yes, there are as many different sects of buddhism as there are christianity. the one in particular I practice is Nichiren buddhism, which is based on the Lotus Sutra. If you want to know more, you can google "SGI". If you are interested/have any questions, you are always welcomed to note me^^

miyazaki I am refering to is THE miyazaki. you got it! I own all the DVDs of his films, though I haven't watched them in a few years. I think my favorite might be Mononoke-hime, though I will always have a place in my heart for Totoro.

No problems with the long comment, i enjoyed it. and thanks for the favorite hon~!

You're welcome!

Thank you very much for the info. I'll definitely look it up.
I'm starting with my own collection of Miyazaki films (so far I have two, English-dubbed version of Mononoke and Spirited Away but I've watched more films than those two ^^ ). Wish I'd be able to buy my own sewing machine before the year ends.

I'm looking forward to seeing your deviations. :w00t: :w00t:
