second pair of mittens ever :'D they turned out much better than the first pair I made (like, two and a half years ago). something I learned in my first attempt is the importance of the choice of fiber. I used a rough-ish 100% cotton yarn (same as what I used for the camera case). baaad idea. it didn't stretch around my hands at all x___x

I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out :] they'll keep my hands nice and warm, uh, some months from now when I will need them.

knitted with Cotton Fleece (80% cotton, 20% merino wool)

w00t! good work :) thery aren't too purple, which is nice, and the thumbs appear to be fairly cohesive with the rest of the mitten-- that's wear I always mess up!

Very pretty!!! I love purple, so you just can't go wrong there, as far as I'm concerned. :giggle:

And I really like the patterned stripe going up the back of the hand. :winner:

VERY nice presentation of the image, too. ;) LOVE that GIMP! :boogie:

thanks^^ the "stripes" are actually two rows of checkerboards. I know, I really should show the detail photos, instead of like, having it in the background >_<

what can I say, I loved your idea!
yeh, I still could have done a cleaner job with the thumbs. it's ever so slightly bulgy where it connects with the rest of the mittens : / not too shabby for a second pair though I guess.

you are not a purple person?? o_____O
 no, I don't know why but purple doesn't agree with me :giggle: Yes, incredible job for a second pair.

Aw. I love them. : D

I like how they cover the whole wrist, too.

And I like how it's presented, too! ;D I like the border. But when you take a picture, maybe it's better to not use flash, because that whitens out the details, which is especially apparent when you download the full-size photo.

So, this is 80% cotton... is the other 20% enough to be comfy and flexible? o:

I didn't use flash D:< there was just a lot of sun light coming in through the glass door. perhaps I shouldn't take photos when it's so sunny : /

yes, it's comfy and flexible. the type of fiber has a lot to do with flexibility of course, but I think one also has to pay attention to how the yarn has been spun. with the other pair of mittens, the yarn is practically mini-rope. there is no give. in the case of this stuff, it not only has that bit of wool for the added softness, but it's also really loosely spun. I think that has a lot to do with its ability to stretch.

hablamos luego~!
Lovely mittens! I have yet to try making them, but I'm shooting to have a pair in time for winter XD

Extrapolate that!
i swear, i always make everything in the wrong season. the mittens have to patiently wait in my closet for another 4 or so months. and i am currently finishing my "summer pants", now that i have 1 whole month of summer left.

x_____x

they were pretty fun to make though! how is/was your trip to, eh... domincan republic? was it? and how is that scarf going??
